Film dari Everest: The Summit of the Gods (2016) bersinopsis Makoto Fukamachi “Junichi Okada” adalah seorang juru kamera Jepang. Dia menemukan kamera tua di jalan belakang Nepal. Kamera tersebut mungkin bisa memecahkan misteri apakah George Mallory menjadi orang pertama yang berhasil mendaki Gunung Everest pada 8 Juni 1924 atau tidak. Mengejar masa lalu kamera lama, Makoto Fukamachi bertemu dengan pendaki gunung legendaris Joji Habu “Hiroshi Abe”. Joji Habu diasingkan dari orang lain karena kepribadiannya yang ceroboh dan tidak berpikir panjang.
