Film dari Journey to the Christmas Star (2012) bersinopsis Sonja yang baik hati berusia 13 tahun tiba di sebuah desa kecil bersama sekelompok bandit. Namun ada kutukan di desa tersebut. Dahulu kala, putri tunggal Raja, Goldhair, menghilang saat mencari Bintang Natal. Sang Ratu meninggal karena patah hati, meninggalkan Raja yang hancur sendirian. Sejak hari itu, Raja mengutuk Bintang Natal, sehingga menyebabkan kegelapan dan kesedihan menyelimuti negeri itu. Namun, seorang bijak tua telah mengungkapkan bahwa Goldhair masih hidup, dan akan kembali hanya jika Raja menemukan jalan kembali ke Bintang Natal. Sejak saat itu, Raja mencari Bintang Natal setiap Natal, tapi semuanya sia-sia.
