Film dari Journey to the Far Side of the Sun (1969) bersinopsis Sebuah planet ditemukan pada orbit yang sama dengan Bumi tetapi terletak tepat di sisi berlawanan dari Matahari, sehingga tidak terlihat dari Bumi. Dewan Eksplorasi Luar Angkasa Eropa memutuskan untuk mengirim astronot Amerika Glenn Ross dan ilmuwan Inggris John Kane melalui pesawat luar angkasa untuk menjelajahi planet lain. Setelah pendaratan darurat yang membawa bencana, Ross terbangun dan mengetahui bahwa Kane hampir mati dan mereka tampaknya telah kembali ke Bumi, sebagaimana dibuktikan dengan kehadiran direktur Dewan dan stafnya. Dilepaskan ke dalam tahanan istrinya, dia segera mengetahui bahwa segala sesuatunya tidak seperti yang terlihat.
